I don’t know who i'm meant to be 

“Who could I be?”
“Who am I meant to be?”
These questions has been on my mind since i was a child
Looking through the books and pages
Hoping it’ll give me an answer
Because throughout the years 
I see the talents from other people 

From the screen,
To the stage,
To the classroom desk.
Smiles with their medals and achievements 
Stacked up 
I can hear the words “i know what i’m doing”
“I know what and who i am”
“I know who i am meant to be”
Chanting from their trophies.

I witnessed my cousin danced on a stage
Practice and finding herself at a young age
But here i am lay stranded and clueless
Of who I am meant to be.
Every single time 
I looked up towards the sky and asked:
“Dear world, tell me who i am”
“I am so lost, i feel as though i am nothing”

I tried other things
Being academically competitive,
Being the person people would look up to
But in the end of the day i feel nothing
Am I indeed nothing?

Dear world,
Tell me who i am
Who i’m supposed to be
And who I am meant to be.
